When I wrote things down for the story, there was a few ideas that I had to scrap and others I adapted differently. This was one of them. When I was drawing my author sprite, I suddenly had the mental image of being in underwear with slippers. I wanted the boxers to have a pattern, but it'd be too small to show. I could have placed maple leaves on them or something. The slippers came after, if I'm going to be Canadian I'll be Canadian to the end. This would have been a separate strip... if it had been funnier on its own. I think it's better used like this. This is about the only time this joke seems to be relevant and not forced. Also if you noticed I've been putting some effort in facial expressions. I love how deadpan Ayasu is here, with the reveal of a half-naked french guy. Cyber of course doesn't know me, not being part of the comic and by the magical powers of waving off details that happen out of the strip. |
